Philadelphia Qualifiers 2018

Okay, so, there were a lot of surprises last night. First, DeFranco. I definitely remember him because he beat out Moravsky for the fastest qualifying time two years ago during his rookie debut. He's obviously fast, as they mentioned during his bio time, but his run was shocking. The way he choked and pulled his leg in, and on the first obstacle! He was no rookie, and he had completed the floating steps before. Honestly, I was jolted. It was so weird, too, whatever it was he did. Regardless of what exactly happened, he's out this year. Also, Chris Wilczewski. I will admit, they made his story sound super dramatic and overbearing, and I'm sure almost dying is pretty extreme, but they made it sound oddly dramatic. It's hard to explain how I felt about it, and I realize they always make things sound dramatic, but this time it was so extra. I do remember he did not run last year, of course I didn't know why, but I am glad to see him again. He was always pretty reliable,...

Indianapolis Qualifiers 2018

First, I have to say it bothered me so much how they kept saying Isaac was the only champion of American Ninja Warrior. Yes, he won the official title and the money, but Geoff Britten is also technically an ANW champion, plus he had a perfect season, which Isaac did not. I know Geoff is not competing this year, but still. Isaac is not the only true American Ninja Warrior. I still think he has a slight advantage because he had more time in between all of his Stage runs, but I can't say anything for sure, obviously. I just think Geoff is getting kind of screwed over. What he did is equally impressive, and Isaac is not the only one to do the unimaginable. He is the official winner because he was faster, but it doesn't change the fact that Geoff won that same year, too. Anyway, while we are talking about Isaac. I have mixed emotions about him. I want him to do well because he is the official champion, and I want to see how well he can do coming back from his break. I want to know h...

Miami Qualifiers 2018

First off, I was really amazed that the first person to run actually finished. I think that unprecedented. The first person sometimes makes it to the fifth obstacle, but to complete it was very unexpected, especially because I thought this course was a little harder than the others. Bootie Cothran and Morgan Wright really impressed me. First, these ANW courses and individual obstacles are only getting harder and harder every year in order to keep up with the youngsters like Drew. So, to be in your 40's and be able to complete the course is very admirable. Also, their first buzzer on ANW on a course like last nights, it just adds to the amazement. It was a great night for them, and though they may struggle in the finals, last night was incredible for them. I have to talk about Drew. We all knew he was going to complete the course and with the fastest time. I mean, it's Drew Drechsel. I was absolutely shocked he didn't get 10k! I mean, I would have bet actual money that he ...

Los Angeles Qualifiers 2018

Is anyone surprised Nicholas Coolridge ran over commercial break? Anyone? No? Of course not, because it's him. He finished, and with the 2nd fastest time, but there's no need to show him at all. It's actually a real joke in my house about him: the forgotten ninja. Anyway, if he must be skipped, the Qualifiers is the best time. I hope he gets some time in the Finals. Frankly, I think I've mentioned this before, but all finishers should be shown. Qualifiers should be completely shown in Finals, and Finals should be completely shown in Vegas (Stage 1). There are so few finishers these days, is it really that difficult to show them some love? I mean, they completed the course, so they obviously have some serious strength and skill. I just think it's a little unfair. I also noticed they skipped Josh Levin. Again, Qualifiers does not mean quite as much, and I guess you could see it coming because he did drop early(ish) on Stage 2, compared to everyone else. It's like ...
